Your views on pros and cons going forward for the property market:

Pros

  1. Interest rates could come down which would mean cheaper mortgages for those on tracker rates almost immediately and further reduction in mortgages more generally.
  2. If you are sitting on USD or EUR then property in the UK will look cheaper for the same money

Cons

  1. Uncertainly means people will sit on their hands and not do much so prices could potentially fall as those wanting to sell would take lower offers. Apparently there is some use of the recently called “10% Brexit discount”
  2. Limiting immigration to such an extent that it reduces demand for property thereby increasing void periods and lowering rents
